Ordering book/ Redshelf/ Textbook / Course eBook / digital textbook / Opt-out - CSU Global

The course eBook is provided to you in the first week of class, with no cost to you. After the first week of class, your student account will be automatically charged for the eBook. We have been able to negotiate a very competitive price for your book. You can find the exact price of the digital eBook at any time, in the Booklist list within your student portal.

It is important to note that this is an online, digital version of the book and is considered a textbook rental. Provided you don’t opt- out, your eBook will be accessible for the entire duration of the course, with most providing unlimited access for at least 180 days. The Booklist has the exact details of the access for your particular text.

If you don’t wish to have access to the online course eBook, you may opt-out within the first week, ending on Sunday. Beyond this date, you will not be able to opt-out and will be automatically charged. To opt-out:

1. Click the Course eBook link in the course navigation on the left hand side of the
2. A page will load within Canvas, displaying the textbook and a green “View Course Materials” Click that button.
3. At the bottom of the page, is a grey bar with the words “I want to opt out of access to all required materials for this course”. Click that bar.
4. Confirm that you want to opt-out
5. You will be presented with an optional survey asking why you have chosen to opt-out. This information goes to CSU- Global only and will be used to ensure that we’re meeting student expectations with the solutions that we offer.

If you choose to opt-out, you may opt back in by following the same process as opting-out, anytime in the first week. Since this is charged to your student account, you may apply your financial aid to this resource.
