Bookshelf texts are accessible on a mobile device, but need to be accessed through a web browser app, and not the Canvas mobile app. In this case the student can use Safari to login to their portal, then course and from there they should have the ability to access the ebook.

Until Bookshelf releases their mobile app, this is the best way that a student can access this via a smartphone.
