CSU-Global Turnitin Student Resource

CSU-Global’s Plagiarism Policy states: CSU-Global accepts an overall originality check similarity score of 30% or less, with no more than 20% of the student’s paper containing quoted material…. Quoted material should be used with discretion and include correct formatting in compliance with the CSU- Global Guide to Writing and APA.

Below is information that will be beneficial for students that are using the Canvas Plagiarism Framework.

The student will need to select the file and check the End-User License Agreement. The student will need to check the End-User License Agreement each time they submit an assignment.

If a student would like to submit an assignment to check the Turnitin Similarity Score, please make sure to include the word DRAFT, before the file name.

This ensures that the faculty member will not grade this version of the assignment. Once you are ready to submit your assignment for grading, be sure add the word FINAL before the file name. Using FINAL before the file name will let your instructor know that this document should be graded.

As a best practice, you should also appropriately make note of either DRAFT or FINAL in the comments section when submitting.

Below is an example of a submitted assignment with the DRAFT label preceding the assignment name:

To view the similarity report, to the Grades tab on the menu, then click on Originality Report:

Whether you want to submit another DRAFT or the FINAL assignment, be sure to click Re-Submit Assignment as shown below:

  • NOTE: Only three re-submission attempts are allowed before you need to wait 24 hours to re-submit again.
