Kanopy Video – This film is not available at your library yet

If a student or faculty member has encountered the error message “This film is not available at your library yet” when clicking on a video in a course.

Information:

This screen is shown when a video’s license in Kanopy has expired or when a student/faculty is trying to access a video we do not have in a course. We can request the video again and it will be placed into the course within 24 hours. This request should only have to come from one user every 6-12 months or when a user is trying to access a video not in a course.

Resolution:

Have the student/faculty complete the form underneath the error message. There should be four areas a user needs to complete. Have the user complete each category as follows.

  • Full Name: (Have user insert full name)
  • Email Address: (This will be the users university email, @csuglobal.edu)
  • How would you describe yourself?: Four options (Librarian, Academic, Student, Other)
  • Your Message: Have the user include Course Code and Module Number or a short explanation of why they want this video.

Have the user click Send after the information is filled out. This will then show “Request Sent.” Within 24 hours the video will then become available for all users.
